Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities of the Role:- Ensuring technical compliance on all assigned projects.
- Ensuring scope of works are completed for electrical packages.
- Managing consultant selections and agreeing RACI matrices.
- Attending design team meetings, in person or through MSTF teams.
- Ensuring design programme are aligned with planning teams.
- Completing reviews of client responsibility matrices and ensuring alignment with project/commercial team.
- Managing RIBA3-5 design processes and procedures.
- Producing design management plan for projects.
- Ensuring Central engineering checklists are implemented on each project.
- Managing design for safe manufacturing assembly when required on the projects.
- Managing the following trackers: procurement schedule; technical submittal register (CSA); drawing register (CSA); RFI log; deviation tracker; lessons learned log; design change log; and monitoring all schedules and trackers throughout the course of the assigned project.
- Carrying out technical submittal & working drawing reviews with the teams on a scheduled basis.
- Assisting with workload on projects (technical submittals, drawing reviews, RFIs, etc.).
- Assisting the project teams with better buying - reviewing orders and ensuring best price is obtained.
- Challenging the consultants and Mercury teams to value engineer.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO19650 requirements.
- Producing reports for the projects you are assigned to and issuing them to the direct manager at agreed periods.
- Assisting with tenders for new projects when required.
- Assisting the estimating department and PE construction team at agreed periods.
- Setting up the value engineering log for the DC&BS group.
- Completing all other tasks related to the Design role requested by your direct line manager.
- Attending Central Engineering stage 5 weekly model review meetings.
- Ensuring the project undergoes a lessons learned review at design stage.
- Coaching graduate engineers on projects on producing tech subs, managing drawing production, issuing RFIs, dealing with clients.
- Attending site visits within Europe from time to time.
- Attending monthly Central Engineering F2F meetings.
- Third level qualification in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Design Engineering.
- 3+ years experience working on large industrial plant projects.
- Proficiency in a related Electrical Design package/software.
- Pride in the quality and presentation of work.
- Must be able to work from our Dublin Headquarters.
- Experience working on data centres would be an advantage but not essential.
