Electrical Design Engineer - Birmingham

We're seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Birmingham MEP team. You'll work on exciting projects across commercial, retail, industrial, and residential sectors, while also supporting service lines such as technical due diligence (TDD), dilapidations, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) surveys, and project monitoring. This role offers real scope for professional growth and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical building services design (LV distribution, lighting, small power, containment, fire & security, ELV).
• Produce specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
• Carry out surveys, site inspections, and attend client/contractor meetings.
• Support TDD, dilapidations, PPM surveys, and project monitoring.
• Collaborate with wider engineering and sustainability teams to drive best practice and decarbonisation strategies.

About You

• 5+ years' experience in building services/MEP design (consultancy or contractor).
• Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of BS 7671 and Building Regulations.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, MS Office, and electrical design software (Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, Relux; Revit desirable).
• Strong communicator, organised, and keen to progress towards Chartered Engineer/MCIBSE.
