ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will help keep Derby's register of electors accurate and support elections as they happen. Day to day tasks include:
- Process applications to register to vote, and applications to vote by post or proxy.
- Answer questions from the public by phone, email and letter.
- Help prepare for elections, including organising the temporary staff who run polling stations and counts.
- Raise purchase orders and invoices, with support from senior colleagues.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- The ability to use a computer and enter information accurately.
- Good organisation and the discipline to keep to deadlines.
- A clear way of explaining things, by phone, in writing and in person.
- Care and discretion in handling confidential information.
- A good standard of Maths and English.
- A willingness to work outside normal hours in the run up to elections and other busy periods.
- Some experience of customer service or handling records is useful.
