EHS Specialist - Rathdrum and Tallaght

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist reports to the EHS Lead and takes responsibility for all activities associated with assigned EHS programs at the Rathdrum site and the Tallaght site to assure safe, compliant and reliable manufacturing and supply operations.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate EHS requirements, and maintain local adherence with corporate policies.
- Collaborate with the EHS Lead and colleagues to drive improvements across all EHS programs.
- Manage, develop, maintain and conduct EHS related risk assessments.
- Own and develop the industrial hygiene program.
- Focus on continuous improvement and strive for EHS excellence with a goal of zero accidents and incidents.
- Oversee EHS management of capital projects.
- Facilitate the EHS perspective in the change management process.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, identify and present corrective and preventive actions, and drive their implementation.
- Develop and deliver relevant training and awareness programmes.
- Participate in other health and safety initiatives and projects as appropriate.
The EHS Specialist reports directly to the EHS Lead, works closely with all departments, and may assist teams as needed. All employees are expected to model Zoetis core beliefs.
Education and Experience- Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, science or EHS; master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry or other technically complex, highly regulated environment. Experience with Seveso and/or IEL regulations is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of EHS legislation, training design and delivery.
- Experience in active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) or a similar complex manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, procedures and processes.
- Knowledge of workplace hazards and hierarchy of controls.
- Understanding of general EHS principles and industrial hygiene requirements.
- Excellent teamwork, ability to work in a diverse environment, manage tight deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong time management and risk based decision making skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
The role is primarily based at Rathdrum, Ireland with periodic attendance at Tallaght, Ireland. The position is full time.
