EHS Business Partner

We are seeking an EHS Specialist to support and maintain a safe, compliant, and high performing working environment across the site. This role is responsible for implementing and continuously improving the site's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems, ensuring compliance with Haleon standards, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
Acting as a subject matter expert, you will partner with site teams to drive a strong safety culture, improve EHS performance, and support risk reduction activities across engineering, manufacturing, and project operations.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and maintain the highest standards of EHS performance across the site.
- Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety reviews.
- Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
- Support compliance with Haleon standards, local legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and support emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Partner with site leadership, project teams, and contractors to embed a proactive safety culture.
- Maintain EHS records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and risk reduction initiatives across the site.
- Represent the site within Haleon's EHS communities of practice and cross site forums.
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years' experience in an EHS, Health & Safety, or Safety Management role.
- Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, regulatory requirements, and safety management systems.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards chartered status.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical, medical device, or FMCG environments.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong problem solving skills with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multicultural environments.
