Early Years Teaching Assistant

Overview

Teach South is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join primary schools in Brighton and Peacehaven. This role starts in September and involves supporting Reception children on a 1:1 basis as they transition from nursery.

The position offers full-time or part-time hours, with a weekly salary between £427 and £450. Candidates should be caring, enthusiastic and focused on early childhood development. It is a contract role ideal for those passionate about fostering positive early learning experiences in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Help young learners settle into school, build confidence, and develop social and emotional skills.
• Support children on a 1:1 basis during the transition to Reception.
• Assist in developing positive relationships and early learning needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally within an EYFS, nursery or primary school setting.
• Patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with young children.
• Confident supporting children on a 1:1 basis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Available to work from September on either a full time or part time basis.
