Are you a nurturing and energetic individual passionate about early childhood education? We are seeking an
EYFS Teaching Assistantto join our team in a mainstream primary setting. This is a vital role where you will support our youngest learners during their most formative years, helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can flourish through play and discovery.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the Early Years foundation stage:
Learning Through PlaySupport the delivery of the EYFS curriculum by facilitating engaging, play-based activities that promote communication, language, and physical development.
Provide one-on-one and small group intervention, helping children meet their early learning goals and supporting those with additional needs.
Classroom ManagementAssist the lead teacher in creating a purposeful and orderly learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.
Observation & TrackingContribute to pupil "learning journeys" by observing and recording progress, sharing key insights with the class teacher and parents.
Help children build confidence, develop social skills, and learn to interact positively with their peers.
Care & SafetyEnsure the welfare of all pupils, assisting with personal care, snack times, and ensuring a high standard of hygiene and safety throughout the day.
Requirements & ExperienceWe are looking for a patient, creative, and caring individual who possesses:
ExperienceA minimum of 6 months of experience working with children in a UK school or EYFS setting (Nursery or Reception experience highly preferred/placements & volunteers accepted)
ComplianceAn Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and eligibility to work in the UK.
CommunicationGood written & verbal English. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with young children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
A genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to long-term, full-time work.
