Early Years Nursery Practitioner
Location: Newport (NP19) Job Type: Full Time, Part time, Temporary or Permanent
Pay: £13.75 Per Hour Start date: 1st April
Are you a passionate Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Nurse looking for your next rewarding role?

Join a friendly, nurturing nursery in Newport where children's curiosity and creativity come first.

We are seeking to appoint a full time qualified practitioner.

As part of the Nursery Team in Cardiff, you will be working with children from six months and will be responsible to the Nursery Manager.

You will be well qualified and energetic with vision, purpose, warmth and humour, someone who works positively with colleagues and derives satisfaction from caring for and encouraging all children.

You will hold an appropriate Early Years or Child Care qualification equivalent to Level 3 and have experience of working with children from six months to four years.

You will be friendly, adaptable, flexible, well organised and confident dealing with parents, staff and pupils.

The Role

Support children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, helping to create a calm, welcoming, and safe environment where children feel confident to explore, learn, and develop independently.

  • Excellent communication skills with children and staff
  • Strong observational and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Assist in creating a stimulating and attractive environment for the children.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • Provide attentive and personalised care to children, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
  • Support children with daily routines, including feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene
Requirements
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development (CCPLD) or Early Years Practitioner Status (Level 2 considered for some placements)
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Welsh speaking is desirable but not essential
