Early Years Educator - 1:1 SEN Support

Location: Bristol

Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

Pay: 110 per day

Contract Type: Temporary with potential for long-term opportunities

Hours: Full-time

About the Role

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting an Early Years Educator - 1:1 SEN Support to join a welcoming and supportive early years setting in Bristol.

This rewarding role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning opportunities, develop key social and communication skills, and thrive within an inclusive nursery environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider early years team to deliver tailored support, ensuring the child receives the encouragement and structure needed to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEN within an early years setting
  • Supporting learning through play and adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional development
  • Working alongside teachers and support staff to implement individual support plans
  • Promoting independence and confidence in daily routines and activities
  • Supporting with personal care where required
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
  • Recording observations and providing feedback on progress
  • Ensuring safeguarding and welfare responsibilities are always met
Requirements
  • Experience working with children in an Early Years or SEN setting
  • Knowledge of EYFS and child development principles is desirable
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs, including ASD, speech and language needs, or developmental delays, is advantageous
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
  • Right to work in the UK
