Acting as the single source of truth for programme milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery confidence, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting programme governance, enabling informed decision making, and ensuring alignment across the wider delivery organisation. This is a short term assignment designed to support a specific programme requirement and will be delivered on a Time & Materials basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and control integrated programme and project schedules using approved planning tools and methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain a clear view of programme milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths, ensuring alignment with contractual commitments and business objectives.
  • Map milestones and deliverables to contract requirements and ensure alignment across the programme.
  • Monitor programme progress, update schedules, and provide accurate forecasting to support delivery confidence and decision making.
  • Produce high quality reporting packs, dashboards, and schedule analysis to provide stakeholders with meaningful insights into programme performance.
  • Manage programme baselines, stage gates, and change control processes, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and planning standards.
  • Facilitate planning workshops and collaborate closely with Project Managers, PMO teams, delivery leads, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment across workstreams.
  • Identify, assess, and manage schedule risks, issues, assumptions, and interdependencies, escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Support programme governance activities by maintaining accurate planning data and ensuring reporting integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning processes, tools, reporting, and programme controls to enhance delivery effectiveness and transparency.
  • Act as a trusted planning resource, providing expert guidance and schedule insights to support successful programme delivery.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience in programme, portfolio, or project planning within complex, multi project environments.
  • Strong proficiency with planning and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project, Jira, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Solid understanding of project and programme management methodologies, including MSP, PRINCE2, Agile, and hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated programme schedules, managing dependencies, and supporting programme governance.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and reporting capabilities, with the ability to interpret schedule data and provide meaningful delivery insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organisation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and collaborate across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Professional project or programme management certifications (e.g. MSP Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Agile certifications) are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience supporting complex programmes within a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) contract environment.
  • Experience operating within enterprise PMO or Programme Controls functions.
  • Exposure to automated reporting, dashboard development, and data driven planning practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile planning techniques, sprint planning, and delivery forecasting.
