ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Bar Manager, the Duty Manager is the most senior person on shift when the manager is off-site. You'll be responsible for the smooth running of the venue during your shifts, upholding the high service standards that a premium city centre venue demands and ensuring every guest leaves having had an exceptional experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take full responsibility for the bar during your shifts, including cash handling, security, and compliance.
  • Lead and motivate bar staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service throughout each session.
  • Open and close the venue to agreed standards, completing all relevant checklists and records.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints calmly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
  • Monitor and act on stock levels during service, ensuring nothing runs out unexpectedly.
  • Support the Bar Manager with training, inductions, and day-to-day team development.
  • Ensure all licensing conditions and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
  • Liaise with the kitchen team during service to ensure food and drink are delivered together seamlessly; food menus are provided by our kitchen partner Peckin' Order and execution is the shared responsibility of bar and kitchen.
  • Complete end-of-day reconciliations and handover notes for the management team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Proven supervisory experience in a bar or hospitality environment, ideally within a premium venue.
  • Confident leading a team under pressure and making decisions independently.
  • Sound knowledge of licensing law, Challenge 25, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Personal Licence holder desirable.
  • A strong interest in craft beer and enthusiasm for sharing that with guests.
