Job Introduction

Job title: Driver Operative (Gateways)

Role overview: This role provides essential operational support for the city's street cleansing programme as part of the Gateway Cleansing Team.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate company vehicles, including HAKO Citymaster 1650, for highway and pedestrian footway sweeping.
• Operate mechanical sweeping vehicles as a lone worker, supporting weed spraying, leaf clearance and cycle lane cleansing outside the city centre.
• Assist with removal of gum, oil stains, graffiti, faeces and dead animals, perform low level street washing with jet washing equipment, and empty street litter bins as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (Category B).
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work the contract schedule, including weekends and bank holidays.
