Job Title: Data Protection Officer (DPO) Contractor
Day Rate: €400-500 p/d
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location: Dublin City (2-3 days onsite per week)

A leading Cybersecurity practice in Dublin is hiring an experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) for a 6-month day rate contract in Dublin City, with a strong likelihood of extension. This role requires a proven expert in data protection, GDPR compliance, and risk management, with exceptional stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring full compliance with GDPR and data privacy regulations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor data protection policies, procedures, and frameworks.
• Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments.
• Advise internal teams and key stakeholders on data privacy best practices and compliance strategies.
• Handle data subject requests, breach management, and regulatory reporting.
• Provide data protection training and awareness initiatives across the organization.
• Stay up to date with EU and Irish data protection laws and industry best practices.

Skillset

• Proven experience as a DPO or senior data protection professional.
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR, Irish data protection laws, and industry regulations.
• Strong experience in stakeholder management and regulatory engagement.
• Ability to lead privacy risk assessments and compliance programs.
• Experience handling data breaches, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Relevant certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent) are desirable.
