The role of Domestic Team Leader plays a key part in our EMAZING Team.
The successful candidate, in addition to cleaning duties, will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Domestic Cleaning Team members and delivery of objectives of the team.
They will be responsible for the performance management, assessments, audits and development of the Domestic Cleaning Team to the required standards set out by the Head of Cleaning Services and to maintain and develop best practices in health and safety at work.
This is a physically demanding role with elements of reaching, crouching, moving between rooms & the movement of items etc.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be required to work a mixture of hours to meet the needs of the entire cleaning service at Horizon Place.
This includes weekday shifts, 6am -9am, evening shifts 5pm - 8pm and occasional weekends. We are committed to working flexibly with colleagues to ensure they get the right work life balance - rota details will be mutually agreed upon appointment.
The main area(s) of work for this role is Trust Headquarters - Horizon Place however you may be asked to support in covering other stations and fixed sites from time to time, dependent on service requirements. This will either be within your existing hours or overtime may be offered.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Domestic Cleaning Team Leader to lead and support our on-site cleaning team within a busy Trust environment.
The role involves supervising staff performance, attendance and conduct in line with Trust policies, while also working alongside the team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and infection control are consistently achieved.
You will organise and prioritise workloads to meet service targets, carry out audits and appraisals, manage annual leave and sickness absence, and support recruitment, induction and staff development.
The post holder will monitor compliance with health and safety, infection prevention and safeguarding policies, manage stock control, maintain accurate records, and assist in resolving complaints.

Person Specification Qualifications Professional Development- 2 GCSEs (of grade C or above) or equivalent - or evidence which shows an ability to apply knowledge in a structured way
- Ability to travel to various Trust sites on occasion and at short notice. Must hold appropriate business insurance to travel to various Trust sites.
- An assessment qualification or be willing to undertake one.
- Displays an awareness of key policies in the Trust.
- Recognised supervisory qualification.
- Business admin NVQ level 2 or above.
- Supervisory experience and experience within a Cleaning Team.
- Previous experience of working within Healthcare.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office - keyboard skills.
- Understanding of the Health and Safety legislation
- Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to make clear, accurate and appropriate written records
- Demonstrates ability to collate numerical information and compile forms.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to lead a team and motivate others.
- Displays a calm and methodical approach to problem solving
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good health and attendance Record.
- Willingness to be immunised - for example against Hepatitis B - in line with Occupational Health advice.
- Demonstrates excellent record of time keeping.
- Understands and is able to maintain patient confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to empathise with people and establish rapport readily
- Ability and willingness to be flexible with hours and duties to meet the needs of the Trust.
- Willingness to undertake training courses.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime if required.
