Job overview

We are looking for a Domestic Supervisor to supervise our Hotel Services Assistant Team at the Derwent Unit and North Community Sites.

Shifts are 6 00 and 11 00 on a rota.

Main duties
  • Plan and undertake the allocation of weekly staff rotas to ensure all areas are covered with agreed hours and staff.
  • Update and amend rotas as regular changes occur and communicate to appropriate people.
  • Record and monitor staff records including annual leave and sickness.
  • Ensure all staff are trained in the correct and safe use of equipment as necessary to provide the service, e.g., suction cleaners, floor maintenance equipment, mopping systems, carpet cleaning machinery, steam cleaners etc. Participate in the annual training programme for all staff.
  • Undertake cleaning audits to ensure all our buildings meet the correct standard and arrange and monitor corrective actions should there be a shortfall.
  • Oversee the delivery of periodic cleaning, prepare a programme of work according to the required schedule and undertake specialist cleaning activities where necessary.
  • Undertake appraisals and supervision with your staff following all Trust and Department procedures.

Person specification
  • Cleaning experience and knowledge.
  • Cleaning management/supervision experience.
  • Computer literacy and confidence.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety.
  • Experience in a hospital environment.
