The role of Domestic/Station Cleaner plays a key part in our team. The successful candidate, following a schedule, will be responsible for the cleanliness of Corby & Kettering Ambulance Stations within Northamptonshire. You will support the cleaning services team by helping to improve the standards of cleanliness and assurance of cleanliness within our sites.

This is a physically demanding role with elements of reaching, crouching, moving between rooms & the movement of items etc.

The main area(s) of work for this role is Corby & Kettering Ambulance Stations in Northamptonshire; however you may be asked to support in covering other stations and fixed sites from time to time, dependent on service requirements. This will either be within your existing hours or overtime may be offered.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To be considered for this role, previous cleaning experience and the ability to work with limited supervision would be advantageous.

To be successful, you would need to:

  • Be able to communicate verbally with others clearly & courteously.
  • Be polite, reliable and responsible.
  • Have a understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessments.
  • Have the ability to comply with standard operating procedures and organisational policies.
  • Be prepared to undertake training and development.
Person specification Knowledge
  • Understanding of Health and safety matters as they relate to cleaning duties.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of COSHH.
  • Awareness of Infection Prevention and Control.
Experience
  • Experience of working without supervision.
  • Previous work experience as a domestic cleaner.
Personal Attributes

  • Display enthusiasm for high standards of customer care.
  • Reliable and conscientious approach.
  • Willingness to travel between sites across the Trust footprint (including having access to a vehicle with appropriate level of insurance).
