Divisional Clinical Director

The Divisional Clinical Director role at UCLH is a 3 year fixed term leadership position, subject to a satisfactory annual review, with the option of a second term. The time commitment required will be agreed between the successful candidate and the medical director as part of a review of their overall job plan.
Further Consultant PA's are available to add to the Divisional Clinical Director role to make up a more substantive Consultant opportunity here at UCLH.
Reporting to the Medical Director, the Divisional Clinical Director will provide strategic and clinical leadership to the Division, working in partnership with the Divisional Manager. The post holder will play a central role in two way communication with those leading and providing the clinical services, with senior Trust management to ensure strategies are aligned, and with our key external partners. The Divisional Clinical Director will lead within the Division and work collaboratively with other Divisions across Medicine Board and the wider Trust to deliver on shared objectives.

- Appropriate clinical qualification or equivalent
- Consultant grade or equivalent
- Demonstrable understanding of current NHS, sector and Trust priorities and developments
- Demonstrable understanding of clinical governance
- Evidence of significant continuing professional development in medical management. It is expected that relevant managerial training will average at least 50% of annual CPD during the appointment
- Demonstrable experience of leading service change initiatives
- Demonstrable experience of leading Consultant medical staff
- Demonstrable experience of effective multi disciplinary working
- Experience in a medical management role, e.g., as Divisional Clinical Director, Clinical Director, Head of Department, Clinical Lead, including control of budgets, staff/line management, service planning and change
- Must work in or alongside the division
