Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with a leading European energy company! They are currently seeking a skilled Project Development Manager to join their Green Assets Division, focusing on renewable energy projects, particularly in Germany and Italy.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

You will be responsible for leading and managing the Green Assets Division's development and early-stage initiatives in Europe, overseeing the development of solar PV plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and onshore wind power projects. The role will require you to drive forward renewable energy projects and work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful execution.

1. Lead and manage the early-stage development process, including project planning, licensing, and technical work for renewable energy projects.
2. Assess prospective projects and conduct feasibility studies and risk analyses, with support from internal teams and external advisers.
3. Oversee tendering processes and manage contracts related to early development phases.
4. Negotiate and manage external advisory engagements and coordinate project due diligence processes.
5. Build and maintain strategic relationships with partners, authorities, grid operators, and other key stakeholders.
6. Develop and manage project budgets, while identifying and mitigating risks throughout the development phase.
7. Stay up to date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments in renewable energy.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. College/University degree in Engineering.
2. Proven track record of developing renewable energy projects in Germany and/or Italy, with additional experience in other European markets considered a plus
3. Deep knowledge of the renewable energy permitting and regulatory landscape in Germany.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Additional language skills (eg, Spanish or French) would be an advantage.
2. Experience in managing cross-border development projects in Europe.
3. Expertise in renewable energy financing and commercialisation.
4. Understanding of energy market trends and regulatory frameworks across Europe
