Traded Quantitative Risk (TQR) is a team within Financial Risk that is a multidisciplinary group of technical experts based in London. The role offers an exciting opportunity to lead at the forefront of Traded Risk management in leading financial institutions.
As a Director, you will take ownership of shaping and driving our clients' risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall stability, sustainability, and growth of their business.
You will inspire and lead a diverse team of professionals, engage with senior stakeholders at the highest levels, and spearhead initiatives that transform and enhance risk management practices.
Your deep expertise in relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., FRTB), Traded Risk Modelling, Model Risk Management, Model Governance, and Risk Management will be instrumental in helping our clients navigate the complexities of Traded Risk and achieve their strategic objectives.

Connect to your opportunityWe are seeking a Director with extensive and demonstrable experience in Traded Risk (Market Risk and/or Counterparty Credit Risk) to lead our dynamic team.
You will take full ownership of the delivery of complex client engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes, and will be accountable for the overall success of projects and client satisfaction.
You will provide strategic direction, thought leadership, and technical expertise to clients, helping them address their most pressing Traded Risk challenges.
You will lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence, while mentoring and developing junior team members to achieve their full potential.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, and act as a trusted advisor on Traded Risk matters.
You will play a key role in driving business development activities, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the growth of the Traded Quantitative Risk team and the broader Financial Risk practice.
The role will require a deep understanding of Traded Risk regulations, such as the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), and the ability to work collaboratively across functions (Front Office, Risk, Methodology, IT) within financial institutions (e.g., investment banks).
You will oversee the effective management of Model Risk, applying advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills across both model development and validation, while ensuring robust governance and compliance with regulatory expectations.

- Significant Market Risk and/or Counterparty Credit Risk, with a proven track record of delivering impactful results in senior leadership roles.
- Extensive expertise in Traded Risk regulations (e.g., FRTB) and a deep understanding of their strategic implications for financial institutions.
- Exceptional quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Traded Risk modelling (e.g., VaR) and significant experience in model development, validation, and governance.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence across functions such as Front Office, Risk, Methodology, and IT, driving alignment and delivering integrated solutions.
- Extensive experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives and governance committees, with the ability to build trusted advisory relationships.
- Deep knowledge of Model Risk Management principles, regulatory requirements, and effective model governance practices.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with the ability to oversee and guide technical teams in their application.
- A strong commercial mindset, with experience in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities and contributing to practice growth.
