Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Technology Partnerships & Delivery to join our Technology Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the CTO, this pivotal role is responsible for managing our critical technology supplier relationships across Telecoms (Mobile Network, OCS, Middleware) and shaping our future partnerships, including our expansion into Broadband.

You will lead a talented team, oversee the delivery of critical technology projects, manage significant budgets, and promote best practices in agile delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and strategic alignment within our technology ecosystem.

Furthermore, you will act as a senior leader within the department, providing mentorship and support on complex challenges. Crucially, you will co-own and articulate the narrative around our technical strategy, partnerships, and agile delivery approach ensuring clarity and alignment

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic Technical Partnership Management: Own and manage relationships with critical technology partners, including our mobile network provider, Online Charging System (OCS) vendor, middleware providers, and future broadband suppliers. Lead negotiations, ensure performance against SLAs, manage contracts, and drive maximum value from these partnerships.

The must haves

  • Experience in a senior leadership role managing critical third-party technology supplier relationships , ideally within the Telecoms or Technology sector.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and delivering complex, high-stakes technology projects or programmes .
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, including Agile Delivery Leads, Scrum Masters, or Agile Coaches.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience of implementing and guiding agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) within technology teams.
  • Proven experience managing significant budgets (£multi-million).
  • Commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
The other stuff we are looking for
  • Outstanding communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, including C-suite.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to grasp technical concepts related to mobile networks, OCS, middleware, APIs, and ideally broadband technologies, sufficient to hold credible discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You do not need to be a hands-on engineer, but must understand the landscape.
  • Experience working effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment.
