Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director to join a leading biopharmaceutical company specializing in advanced insulin formulations and drug delivery technologies. This pivotal role focuses on identifying, developing, and securing commercial opportunities that drive growth across the company's diabetes-focused portfolio.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Business Development Director will be varied; however, the key responsibilities are as follows:
Strategic Partnering & Licensing:
- Identify and develop new licensing, co-development, and commercialization opportunities for diabetes-related assets, with a focus on ultra-rapid and stabilized insulin formulations.
- Lead end-to-end deal processes including strategy development, partner outreach, due diligence, contract negotiation, and alliance management.
- Collaborate with R&D and senior leadership to align business development activities with the company's pipeline strategy.
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Assessment:
- Monitor trends in insulin therapy, drug delivery innovations, biosimilar insulin landscapes, and digital/connected care solutions.
- Evaluate external assets, technologies, or partnerships that could enhance the company's product offering or market positioning.
External Engagement & Representation:
- Cultivate high-level relationships with pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, distributors, and diabetes care providers globally.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, scientific symposia, and partnering events.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application for this exciting role as the Business Development Director, we are looking to identify the following:
Experience & Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences related discipline or similar (advanced degree or MBA preferred).
- Experience in business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences sector. Proven track record in insulin or diabetes therapeutics-experience with biosimilars, injectable biologics, or drug delivery platforms highly desirable.
- Global experience or knowledge of EU, US, and emerging markets (e.g., Latin America, APAC) for insulin products.
