As Director General Manager of Painter Brothers, you'll have full responsibility for business performance, shaping strategy, driving operational excellence and leading a specialist manufacturing operation with a strong market reputation.

Combining commercial expertise with strong operational leadership, you'll grow market share, secure new business and deliver outstanding results across sales, manufacturing and project delivery. Leading a multi-disciplinary team, you'll set the direction, culture and pace required to achieve ambitious growth and profitability targets.

This is a high-impact role with genuine autonomy and accountability, offering the opportunity to run your own P&L, influence every aspect of the business and play a key role in its future success.

The role will be based in Hereford, where the manufacturing operations are based.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the overall strategy, performance and profitability of Painter Brothers, with full P&L accountability.
• Drive business growth through winning new orders, expanding market share and strengthening customer relationships.
• Oversee all manufacturing, fabrication and project delivery activities to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality performance.
• Deliver annual revenue, margin and profit targets through effective business planning and execution.
• Champion a culture of health, safety, wellbeing and sustainability across the business.
• Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team, creating clear goals and accountability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce costs and optimise operational performance.
• Oversee production planning, resource management, inventory control and capital investment activities.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders to support long term growth.
• Provide clear performance reporting and strategic insight to support business decision making.

Who we're looking for

• A proven business leader with the ability to shape strategy, drive performance and deliver sustainable growth.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing profitability, budgets and business performance.
• A collaborative and influential leader with a track record of building high-performing teams and leading cultural transformation.
• Experience driving operational excellence and performance improvement through clear objectives, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with customers, suppliers and senior leaders.
• Experience operating within manufacturing, engineering, construction, infrastructure or other complex operational environments.
• An understanding of manufacturing, production, project delivery or supply chain operations; knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and lean methodologies would be advantageous.
• Resilient, adaptable and action oriented, with strong decision making, problem solving and communication skills.
