Job Description

We are looking for a Director of the Infrastructure Department (Renewable Energy) with 20 years of experience with deep expertise in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, developing business strategies, conducting commercial activities, and liaising with public administrations with environmental competencies.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the development and execution of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) for large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
  • Design and implement business development strategies, including identifying new business opportunities and conducting commercial negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, especially public administrations at national and regional levels, in matters of environmental permitting and compliance.
  • Oversee and coordinate the processing of various environmental permits (EIA, SEA, Integrated Environmental Authorization, water permits, forestry permits, land-use planning, etc.).
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with national and European environmental legislation, particularly EU Directives related to EIA.
  • Manage environmental monitoring programs during both construction and operational phases of projects.
  • Lead the technical and financial management of a portfolio of 40+ projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, deadlines, and budget control.
  • Actively participate in the preparation and delivery of technical presentations, workshops, round tables, and conferences.
  • Contribute to or lead ecological restoration and habitat improvement projects.


Key Skills & Qualifications


  • University degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Forestry Engineering, or related fields.
  • Postgraduate studies in Environmental Management highly valued; MBA or equivalent business-related education is a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, with demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams in EIA.
  • Deep knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks in Spain and the European Union.
  • Proven experience in environmental permitting procedures and navigating public administrative processes.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple high-complexity projects simultaneously.
  • Commercial acumen and experience in client-facing roles and business strategy development.
  • Extensive experience working with public authorities (territorial services, general environmental directorates, etc.).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure project typologies (renewable energy, linear infrastructure) and associated environmental impacts.
  • Technical knowledge in ecological restoration, habitat management, zoology, botany, and/or ethology is a plus.
  • Academic research experience and contributions to environmental knowledge dissemination (e.g., conferences, publications, technical talks) are desirable.
  • Fluent in Spanish; professional proficiency in English is a strong advantage.
