The Director of Data Analytics is a strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the data, analytics, and insight strategy for the performance of our Community Pharmacies and integrated pharmacy insights. The role focuses on dispensing operations, financial performance, and patient level journeys.
This leader transforms complex pharmacy, supply chain, and commercial data into actionable intelligence that improves patient outcomes, enhances operational efficiency, and drives durable financial value. They influence senior executives, align cross functional stakeholders, and cultivate a high performing analytics culture.
The role sits at the center of a highly collaborative network including Industry Relations (INR), Pharmacy Services, PTR, Community Pharmacy Operations, Network Relations, Finance, Supply Chain, Clinical, Compliance and Legal.

Primary Responsibilities Pharmacy Analytics & Insight Leadership- Build and lead the integrated pharmacy analytics and insight function for community pharmacy performance and integrated pharmacy insights
- Development KPI and Dimensional Performance Management Frameworks to measure business performance, uncover value opportunities and measure impact
- Collaborate to deliver dashboards, trend analyses, and KPIs that drive decisions, improve margin, and enable proactive action
- Develop analytics and insights that deliver timely intelligence and data driven recommendations to INR, PTR, Pharmacy Services, and retail/community pharmacy leaders
- Ensure dashboards and KPIs are standardized, accurate, and aligned to business priorities
- Shape the pharmacy specific roadmap for advanced analytics (AI/ML, predictive modeling, scenario simulation) to anticipate market trends, optimize community pharmacy operations, and influence strategy
- Build, mentor, and lead a high performing analytics team with a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Set clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations; review and guide work to ensure quality and consistency
- Establish operating rhythms that enhance execution and cross functional alignment
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across PTR, INR, Optum Rx pharmacies, and community/retail pharmacy operations
- Drive alignment on priorities to drive short and long term value
- Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Forecast and plan resource requirements aligned to strategic goals
- Solve complex enterprise problems through structured analysis and innovative thinking
- Maintain a sharp focus on measurable results across speed to insight, quality, operational efficiency, cost savings, and revenue enablement

Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven progressive leadership experience in analytics, business intelligence or business partnering
- Proven experience analyzing complex pharmacy, healthcare, retail, sell or buy side supply chain or similar industry datasets to produce actionable insight and strategy
- Demonstrated solid collaboration skills with a track record of influencing cross functional teams toward business growth and profitability
- Demonstrated SQL proficiency and solid technical acumen
- Demonstrated Power BI or other reporting / visualization tool ability for ad hoc and BAU reporting use cases
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build capability and grow individual careers
- Demonstrated working knowledge of pharmacy operations, supply chain, pharmaceutical economics, inventory management, reimbursement models
- Proven experience in managed care, PBM, community pharmacy, integrated pharmacy operations, or healthcare analytics
- Proven experience with Power BI, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), and modern data engineering workflows
- Proven storyboarding ability & experience
- Proven ability to lead a team delivering advanced analytics (AI/ML, predictive modeling, scenario simulation) use cases
