Job Description

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

The Role:

We're looking for a User Experience Researcher to join Oxfam GB's Owned Digital team, who can help us better understand our supporters' behaviours, needs, and motivations to ensure our design decisions are grounded in real user insights.

As a UX Researcher, you will manage and implement the entire research process on project-based work, as well as identify possible areas for improvement.

You will advocate for Oxfam's supporters, and champion accessibility and inclusion by applying a range of research methods - including AB Testing, Heat map analysis, Google Analytics, usability testing, user interviews, and surveys - to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. You will translate these findings into clear, actionable insights that guide Oxfam's content creators and other stakeholders in improving the overall user experiences, primarily on the Oxfam GB website.

Other key dimensions of this role include championing user centred design, upskilling key stakeholders and content creators, as well as nurturing productive working relationships with our insights and analytics team and the agencies that maintain our owned digital platforms.

What we are looking for:

We're looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in digital UX (User Experience) research or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to present findings clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
  • Passion for creating intuitive, inclusive, and impactful user experiences.
  • Ability to manage own time and communicate clearly through digital channels (MS Teams, Email, Jira etc).
  • Adaptability, staying up to date with current industry trends.
We offer:

We offer a competitive salary and a range of additional benefits to staff including flexible working options, generous pension scheme, annual leave, additional leave allowances, company sick pay, life assurance and a range of other benefits.

From the day you join Oxfam we invite you to stretch and learn in your role. Our wide range of Learning & Development opportunities includes in house courses, e learning modules, on the job learning opportunities, coaching and mentoring, and much more.

Flexfam:

We believe flexible working is key to building the Oxfam of the future, so we're open to talking through the type of flexible arrangements which might work for you. Whilst the role is not fully remote, we offer a flexible hybrid setup. The team gets together at the Oxfam office in Oxford on the first Wednesday of each month for an all hands day, plus a few other in person gatherings during the year. Otherwise, you'll have the flexibility to work where it best suits you - whether that's in a home or office environment.
