Job Description

What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?

At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

A little more about your role

As a Digital Consultant, you'll help deliver practical digital tools that support projects across our Transport, Energy, Water, Environment and Major Infrastructure markets. You'll join our Digital team, working alongside geospatial, engineering and environmental specialists, helping project teams and clients make better use of their data and digital workflows.

This role blends technical delivery with client facing work. You'll spend time understanding what users need and translate that into clear, simple digital solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, ESRI and other digital tools. Being able to explain technical ideas in a straightforward way is an important part of the job.

Your work may involve improving existing tools, supporting live project delivery, or helping to develop and deliver new digital approaches. You'll play an important role in delivering project tasks on time, within budget and to a high standard, and you'll help promote our digital and geospatial capabilities across the business.

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive digital community where there's plenty of scope to develop your skills, share ideas and grow your career. WSP offers strong opportunities for progression, professional development and networking, and you'll be encouraged to explore emerging technologies and new ways of working.

You'll enjoy this role if you feel comfortable discussing technical ideas with clients and teams, and can apply the right digital tools to tackle real project challenges.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • A BSc degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in IT or software development or other related field
  • Experience developing, delivering, deploying and maintaining digital solutions in a live operational environment
  • Strong professional experience developing and delivering solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and wider M365 tools
  • Good understanding of databases, data structures and integrations (Dataverse, SQL, APIs, custom connectors)
  • Ability to translate user needs into clear technical requirements and practical solutions
  • Experience of development governance (version control, environments, change control)
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Web development (JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML or CSS)
    • ESRI tools and APIs (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise)
    • AI and automation tools
    • SQL, REST APIs, JSON or OData
    • Microsoft Fabric
  • Understanding of environmental, engineering or geospatial data workflows
  • Exposure to consultancy or client facing delivery
  • Awareness of UX/UI principles, automation or AI driven tools
