DevOps Patch Engineer/Brussels (Hybrid)/Full-Time freelance

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced OPS Engineer to support enterprise patch management and operational security activities within a large-scale IT environment.
Please note: While the original role includes DevOps and automation technologies, the primary focus is on operations, patch management coordination, stakeholder communication, and ensuring the successful execution of patching activities. Strong organisational and coordination skills are essential, while Scripting and DevOps experience are considered advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate the end-to-end patch management life cycle.
- Plan, schedule, test, deploy, and validate security patches across enterprise environments.
- Coordinate monthly and emergency patching activities with internal teams and external vendors.
- Track and follow up on patching requests to ensure timely completion.
- Support vulnerability remediation and security compliance initiatives.
- Maintain patch management standards, documentation, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and business stakeholders.

You'll help coordinate patching activities for a range of enterprise platforms, including:
- Axway
- NetReveal
- SAP BusinessObjects (BI4)
- BlackLine
- Blue Prism
- Dynatrace
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Power BI
- SWIFT
- IntelliMatch
- QRM
- And other critical business applications.
Nice-to-Have Technical Experience
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- PowerShell Scripting and automation
- GitHub and GitHub Actions
- CI/CD pipelines
- DevOps methodologies
- Windows Update for Business
- Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Windows Server and Linux
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Dynatrace
- Vulnerability management and security compliance reporting
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in patch management and IT operations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating activities across technical teams and third-party vendors.
- Good understanding of vulnerability management and security remediation.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
