Senior Automation Engineer - Remote (occasional onsite in Barcelona)

Freelance Remote (Barcelona) ️ Occasional travel to Barcelona

We're working with a digital-first client looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join them on a freelance basis. You'll play a key role in eliminating manual processes by designing frameworks that standardize and automate tasks across both cloud and on-prem environments.

What they're looking for:

️ Strong automation experience - designing frameworks to remove manual steps

️ Solid knowledge of AWS/Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud DevOps

️ Hands-on with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Dynatrace

️ Proven background working across remote and hybrid teams

️ Excellent communication + ability to work independently

️ Must be open to occasional onsite in Barcelona

What you'll be doing:

Automating manual workflows and improving system performance

Leading small teams and working closely with dev squads

Implementing monitoring and observability tools

Defining best practices and automation governance
