Salary/Rate: Up to £55k - Perm depending on relevant experience

Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading Public Sector clients! They are currently looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their team for a long-term project.

Job Responsibilities & Required Experience

1. Work using agile techniques as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a mix of small projects and larger product roadmap items.
2. Automate the build and deployment of applications, either on-premises or in the cloud.
3. Automate the configuration and deployment of system environments.
4. Address 2nd and 3rd line support issues.
5. Participate in the Out-of-Hours Support rota (additional pay).
6. Fix faults following agreed procedures.
7. Ensure quality assurance is integral to delivery-both personally and through automated methods.
8. Help define excellent business processes, user experiences, and technical standards.
9. Influence ways of working, introducing ideas to improve efficiency, stability, and ease of change.
10. Experience with Linux upgrades and support.
11. Software engineering experience, preferably in Java, JavaScript, or Python.
12. Experience with cloud migration, preferably Azure.
13. Source control experience, preferably with Git.
14. Additional skills (desirable): Infrastructure as code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and awareness of testing tools like Playwright or Cypress.
