My client, a leading specialist Insurer, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their newly created Global Policy Admin inception team.

This role will suit an experienced Engineer with a strong proven background gained in all areas of the SDLC from design, development, testing, operations and infrastructure. You will have a passion for automation with an extensive experience within the Financial Services sector.

ANY EXPERIENCE WITH GUIDEWIRE CLOUD CONSOLE IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE

Key responsibilities:

• Application and infrastructure planning and testing including integrations
• Maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Automation implementation
• Guidewire Cloud Console configuration
• On-call, incident response and incident management
• Monitoring the software development process through its entire lifecycle and ensuring adherence to security standards
• Regularly updating or creating new processes to enhance performance and minimise wastage
• Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
• Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure

As expected in these roles, some out of hours and/or weekend work may be required.

Knowledge and Experience

• Extensive experience within the Financial Services sector
• Experience of cloud integration gateways (AWS or Azure)
• Experience of DevOps practices and methods
• Experience of Cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrate a solid background and understanding of DevSecOps
• A strong proven track record of implementing automated continuous delivery of enterprise services both on premise and cloud
• Very strong interpersonal skills with ability to train and transform organisational culture

• Strong understanding of application design, testing, development and architecture
• Experienced in ways of working such as Agile Scrum, Lean methodologies such as Kanban and experience of Scaled Agile (LeSS, SAFe) would be beneficial
• Deep knowledge required of following tools/technologies
  • Containerisation tooling and management in particular, Docker & Rancher
  • CI/CD tooling such as Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Artifactory & GitHub
  • IaC configuration tooling such as Chef/Ansible/Puppet/Terraform
  • Hypervisor technology such as VMWare
  • Microsoft Azure architecture
  • Microsoft Windows Server (up to 2019)
  • Linix (any distribution)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (up to 2019)
  • PowerShell and/or other scripting languages
  • Fundamentals of software testing
