DevOps Architect with AWS
Our client is an established international company with offices in Leeds, UK.
They are looking to recruit a DevOps Architect with at least 3 to 5 years of experience as a DevOps Architect focused on an AWS environment.
You will support Project Management teams to successfully implement and monitor initiatives and provide supporting technical documentation.
You will also assist with establishing IT Architecture best practices and drive continuous improvement.
The role involves staying at the forefront of new technologies and vendors.
Responsibilities- Serve as an AWS specialist, providing technical guidance on AWS design, governance, performance, scalability, security, operations, and cost control to maximize AWS investment.
- Collaborate with IT and business partners to guide architecture and high-level solution design for new products and services.
- Assess cloud maturity, review existing AWS implementations, identify gaps, and suggest improvements.
- Work within a team on larger solutions, providing technical support to meet delivery timelines.
- Map current product states and plan their evolution over 3-5 years to mitigate EOL and EOS risks.
- Support DevOps teams to improve technical maturity, availability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency of applications.
- Guide the deprecation and removal of outdated technologies to minimize risks.
- Promote adoption of new technologies and practices to maintain technological advantage.
- Define and improve processes for efficiency, safety, and security.
- Encourage continuous, automated deployment processes.
- Stay updated with current and future technologies, products, and strategies.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or 4-8 years of related experience.
- AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, SysOps Admin, or Developer Associate.
- Experience producing technical artifacts and documenting current and future states.
- Expertise in cost optimization and best practices for cloud services.
- Ability to define standards and patterns across diverse products.
- Security awareness with a 'security by design' approach.
- Experience with Agile methodologies like SCRUM and KANBAN.
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Supportive of organizational change.
- 3+ years of architecting and delivering AWS cloud solutions.
- 5+ years of production experience with AWS.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale SaaS products.
- Experience with cloud-native security, DevSecOps, or MLOps.
- Hands-on experience with microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools for automation.
- Ability to create tooling and automation to enhance developer experience and delivery speed.

The salary ranges from £65K to £80K plus bonus and car allowance.
The role is based at the client's Leeds office, with options for remote work and meetings as required.
