Role Overview

The role involves managing the implementation and effectiveness of design management systems, ensuring compliance with business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements. Acts as an enabler for change, business improvement, and delivers value for clients. Oversees all phases of Design Management, including interactions with construction, commercial, programme, and procurement teams.

• Guide daily activities of design management teams across projects.

• Support the delivery of design management to achieve strategic outcomes and KPIs.

• Act as a point of contact for client design issues, maintaining relationships.

• Coordinate activities to meet business plan outcomes within deadlines and budgets.

• Ensure briefs and stakeholder requirements are met.

• Provide operational support for deployed design management resources.

• Interpret and present KPIs and management review data to stakeholders.

• Support business development and work-winning activities.

• Ensure adherence to management systems and governance throughout project lifecycles.

• Review and analyze data and metrics for management reviews.

• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Coordinate with teams for aligned deliverables.

• Leverage knowledge from the Centre of Excellence and other resources.

• Contribute to the net zero carbon transition efforts, managing associated emissions and reductions.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge of design management systems, risk management, and mitigation strategies.

• Expertise in prefabrication/build strategies and multiple building types.

• Understanding of the construction and consultancy industries, including legislation and standards.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.

• BIM literacy and management skills.

• Degree in a design-related discipline or equivalent.

• Membership in professional organizations (e.g., RIBA, MICE, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT).

• Experience in project delivery, stakeholder management, and sustainability considerations.
