Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced 3D Design Engineer to support advanced engineering studies for major naval conversion projects, including VLCC to FPSO transformations. This role involves creating and integrating detailed 3D models and generating general arrangement (GA) drawings from those models.

Location: On-site in Lorient, France

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Fixed-term / Freelance

Language: English proficiency required

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D modeling of equipment layouts, handling sequences, and support structures
• Extraction of general arrangement (GA) drawings from 3D models
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams within a regulated naval engineering environment
• Adherence to site safety protocols and engineering standards

Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in AVEVA E3D (mandatory)
• Experience in naval engineering, with handling/maintenance studies (desired)
• Familiarity with RHINO or INVENTOR is a plus
• Experience in Energy, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical sectors
• Solid understanding of international standards and codes relevant to industrial projects
• Strong organisational and reporting skills
