Are you a creative Design and Technology Teacher who can inspire students to design, build, and innovate?

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive school in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated teacher to engage students, develop their practical skills, and make lessons both exciting and hands on.

As a Design and Technology (DT) Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons, support students of all abilities, and work closely with colleagues to help every pupil reach their full potential. The successful candidate will be confident, organised, and passionate about creativity and problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons
• Support students' learning both individually and in groups
• Encourage creativity, practical skills, and innovative thinking
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Promote positive behaviour and student engagement
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources
• Contribute to school projects, workshops, or enrichment activities

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Design and Technology in a school setting
• Ability to inspire and engage students across all abilities
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
