Shape the future of early years education by leading, inspiring, and creating a nurturing environment where children aged 0-5 thrive!

In this busy and exciting role, you will be right at the heart of the action, blending hands on early years care with key management responsibilities. You will lead a room and support your colleagues in creating a nurturing, inspiring environment while stepping up to assist with the overall day to day running of the nursery when needed.

Working closely with a welcoming team at Peterborough College, you will develop your leadership skills without being stuck behind a desk. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of care, supporting staff growth, and maintaining a vibrant place for young children to learn and play.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age appropriate activities that support children's development and curiosity.
  • Ensure all learning, care, and room practices align fully with EYFS standards.
  • Lead a nursery room day to day, serving as a positive role model for the team.
  • Support and guide colleagues through regular check ins, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers as a reliable point of contact.
  • Step up to support overall nursery management and leadership duties when required.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare across the setting.
  • Collaborate effectively with external professionals and local authorities to meet each child's needs.
  • Assist with the organization, resourcing, and smooth operational running of the nursery.
  • Foster a safe, clean, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5.
What we're looking for:

You will be a passionate Early Years practitioner holding at least a Level 3 childcare qualification (a Level 5 qualification is a bonus), backed by strong, practical experience working with children aged 0-5. You possess excellent knowledge of safeguarding and EYFS standards, alongside the confidence to lead a team with kindness, clarity, and consistency.

Calm under pressure and possessing a positive, can do attitude, you excel at building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues alike.

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and truly shape a nursery environment, we would love to hear from you!
