Job Description

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, ambitious and outstanding professional, who is fully committed to developing all aspects of school life. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Headteacher in developing, inspiring and embodying the nurturing ethos and culture of this inclusive and caring school.

Our deputy headteacher will have:

  • Vision, drive and energy to support, challenge and inspire staff to achieve excellence;
  • The ability to lead on key areas within teaching and learning as we continue to meet the exciting challenge of a new curriculum;
  • Proven leadership and management skills at a strategic and day to day level with a relentless focus on leading to improve the quality of education and pupils' standard of achievement;
  • Excellent understanding of successful pedagogies and how to work with others to improve practice; A record of successful school improvement;
  • High expectations of themselves, staff and pupils;
  • An outstanding record as a classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupils' attainment, behaviour and wellbeing;
  • The ability to motivate and lead by example;
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Be able to foster excellent working relationships with our families and the wider community for the benefit of our pupils;
  • An unwavering commitment to inclusion and providing provision which meets the needs of the most vulnerable pupils
  • A sound understanding and the ability to use restorative approaches
  • A person who is positive, enjoys their job, is flexible and a problem solver
  • Someone engaged in reading research and CPD and is outwardly focused
  • Someone with excellent interpersonal skills to inspire, lead, organise and motivate all members of the school community
  • Someone who is, caring, compassionate and tolerant
