Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (Part time 28 hours per week considered for the right candidate).
Location: Home-based with regular travel to Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, other travel across England, Wales & Northern Ireland as required for the role.

Purpose of jobTo support the Head of Health to promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of people with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus and associated conditions, to build Shine's networks to increase our influence in the health sector.
Core role- To support the Head of Health in day-to-day operations and deputise for her where required, and also support with clinical governance and quality assurance systems across the health team.
- To assist in the delivery of Shine's Corporate Plan by supporting the health team to achieve their objectives set out against the annual work plan.
- To deal with member referrals to the health team, giving up-to-date information, advice and support to assist Shine's members to manage their conditions well and live healthy and fulfilling lives.
- To represent Shine at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital Adult Spina Bifida Assessment Clinic on a fortnightly basis (Thursdays).
- To arrange and host meetings with the team to ensure coordinated planning and delivery of the work plan to meet milestone deadlines.
- To develop virtual health services for members and contribute, as part of the health team, to the delivery of a regional and national programme of events to Shine's membership (whether virtual or face-to-face).
- To provide information to professionals working with those individuals and families affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.
- To raise greater awareness of spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus amongst professionals, external organisations and the general public through presentations, training and attendance at professional events.
- To promote Shine, support the building of networks and increase Shine's influence in the health sector and support campaign work.
- To actively promote membership of Shine to people with the relevant conditions when the opportunity arises.
- To keep clear and accurate records for monitoring and evaluation of member case work/support/advice, and professional contacts/engagement using our CRM system, Salesforce.
- To undertake any other duties in line with the job role.
- Direct line management of nursing staff within Shine, performance, development and supervision.
- Ability to travel across the designated areas.
- Flexible working hours, which may include some weekends.
- Quiet area to work from home, ensuring confidentiality.
- Motivated and able to work on your own initiative from home.
- Full Enhanced DBS checks and referencing will be completed.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- NHS Band 6 level Adult Nursing/Registered General Nurse with at least 5 years' experience or Band 6 Level Paediatric Nursing with at least 5 years' experience and additional proven experience within an adult setting.
- Significant experience of working with disabled adults, preferably both children and adults.
- At least 3 years' experience in supporting in one or more of these areas: continence care, neurosurgery, urology or neurology or similar fields.
- Experience in leading a team and supervising staff.
- Knowledge of the health and social care system.
- Knowledge of spina bifida, hydrocephalus and related conditions and the issues and challenges faced by people living with these conditions.
- Ability to develop practical solutions for dealing with members' complex health issues.
- Presenting to large or small groups both online and in person.
- Ability to understand and analyse complex research/medical information.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- IT literate with a good knowledge of computer systems and programmes (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a working knowledge of virtual delivery mediums such as Zoom, Teams.
