About the Role

As Deputy Chief Electrician, you'll be part of an experienced and much respected Technical team that ensures that shows at Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, Rhyl Events Arena and other DLL venues are delivered to the highest production standards.

You will assist the Chief Electrician with designing sound, lighting and AV installations, as well as setting up and operating a wide range of professional sound, lighting and other technical equipment during live stage performances. You will also ensure that lighting, sound and PA and other electrical equipment is maintained to a high standard.

The role also supports the wider remit of the Technical Team in sourcing, design, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical, sound and lighting installations across DLL venues, and managing DLL's inventory of external events equipment.

About you

You should have experience of working within a professional technical team at an established theatre or events venue, along with a good knowledge of professional sound, lighting and audio visual equipment design, installation and operation. You must also have an understanding of the relevant licencing and health and safety regulations relating to theatres and events, along with a sound understanding of relevant legislation, including LOLER, COSHH and PUWER.

Most events and activities take place on weekends and evenings and there will be a requirement to work unsociable hours. The role does involve physical activity, such as moving equipment, setting up staging, building sets, rigging, working at height etc. and you must be physically able to meet the demands of the job. You must also be able to work flexibly and as part of a team, whilst also demonstrating the leadership skills required to manage staff effectively and to tight timescales.
