Depot Manager - Rope Access Mossley, Greater Manchester

Location: Mossley, Greater Manchester
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 + benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
Hybrid Working: Depot-based with occasional flexibility

We're partnering with our client, a longstanding leader in rope access and work-at-height engineering across rail, construction and infrastructure. With huge demand for safe, compliant, specialist access solutions, we're seeking a hands on Rope Access Equipment, Tools & Plant Manager to drive operational excellence from the depot floor.

This role is the operational heartbeat of the business, making sure front line teams are equipped, compliant and ready to deliver.
And for those who want it, there's scope to expand your horizons - whether that's stepping onto live project sites, growing into wider operational responsibility or progressing towards leadership.

Key Responsibilities

You'll lead depot operations to guarantee equipment integrity, safety and readiness by:

  • Managing, inspecting and maintaining rope access, lifting & safety equipment (IRATA, LOLER & PUWER compliant)

  • Overseeing goods in/out, storage, asset allocation & vehicle coordination

  • Preparing and issuing project equipment packs - tested, certified & mobilisation ready

  • Scheduling inspections, LOLER examinations, calibration & plant maintenance

  • Managing tool registers, stock control and equipment procurement

  • Coordinating with Project Managers & Supervisors for smooth project mobilisation/demobilisation

  • Completing risk assessments and maintaining documentation for audit & compliance

  • Supporting continuous improvement, depot systems upgrades & smarter ways of working

  • (Optional) Getting involved in live projects and site visits to see your work come to life

Candidate Profile

You're a practical, safety driven leader with experience in:

  • Rope access, lifting equipment or working at height disciplines

  • LOLER, PUWER & IRATA requirements

  • LOLER inspection certification (essential)

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent

  • Forklift & PAT testing preferred

  • Strong organisation, communication and record keeping

  • Full UK driving licence

  • A proactive mindset and commitment to doing things right
