Democratic Services Officer
Full time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Permanent

We're looking for a Democratic Services Officer to provide support to elected members within the Council's decision-making process and contribute to the governance of the Council.

About the role

You will be responsible for servicing formal and informal member and officer-level meetings. Your main responsibilities include the preparation and publication of agendas, taking minutes and supporting and undertaking research for the council's scrutiny function. With the ability to organise and assist with events, it would be beneficial if you have previous experience of facilitating these or similar activities.

About you

To succeed you will need to be flexible and adaptable, with excellent written and oral communications skills. The ability to work to a high standard and to tight deadlines with attention to detail is essential. Minute taking and attendance at some evening meetings held at the council offices will be required as part of this role.
