Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Deep Learning Consultant based in or near Amsterdam to design and implement cutting-edge machine learning models that solve real-world problems. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to build and integrate deep learning solutions into scalable, production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess opportunities for applying deep learning to business challenges.
  • Build and deploy advanced models including CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, GANs, and others.
  • Advise on data pipelines, model lifecycle management, and deployment strategies.
  • Conduct research to evaluate new deep learning techniques and integrate them into solutions.
  • Optimize models for performance, efficiency, and real-world constraints (e.g., inference time).
  • Provide hands-on mentorship to internal technical teams where required.
  • Document and present results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning with a deep focus on neural networks.
  • Expert in Python and DL frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
  • Deep understanding of modern architectures like ResNet, BERT, GPT, LSTM, and diffusion models.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps tools.
  • Strong understanding of data preprocessing, augmentation, model tuning, and evaluation.
  • Experience deploying models into production environments (on-prem or cloud).

Nice to Have:

  • Publications in AI/ML conferences or journals.
  • Experience with privacy-preserving ML (e.g., federated learning).
  • Background in specific domains such as healthcare, finance, or robotics.
  • Experience working in Dutch or EU regulatory environments.
  • Familiarity with real-time inference systems or edge ML deployment
