Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced Deep Drainage Operative to join our busy construction teams across Newcastle. We are partnering with leading civil engineering firms and major house builders who require precision and pace on essential infrastructure and plot works. If you are an operative who thrives in a productivity driven environment and has mastered the complexities of deep drainage systems, we have immediate starts and long term runs of work available now.

The Role

• Deep Drainage Focus: Laying large diameter pipes, concrete rings, and manhole construction at significant depths.
• Pipe Laying: Expert installation of foul and surface water systems, ensuring correct falls and laser level accuracy.
• Trench Support: Working safely within various shoring systems (trench boxes, sheets, and braces) to facilitate deep excavations.
• General Groundworks: Assisting with kerbing, flagging, and foundations once drainage sections are complete.
• Productivity Driven: Operatives used to the rigors of site start infrastructure who can keep the program moving without compromising safety or quality.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Civil Engineering or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Valid CSCS Blue or Gold card.
• Specialist tickets: CPCS/NPORS for Dumper or Roller is a major advantage; Confined Spaces training highly preferred.
• Extensive experience in deep drainage, street works, or major residential infrastructure.
• Full professional kit and standard 5 point PPE.
• Reliability: Must work as part of a deep drainage gang to hit strict infrastructure deadlines.
• Valid right to work in the UK.
