We are searching for an experienced Debt Collection Agent to manage a varied portfolio of accounts across the utilities, construction, and corporate lending sectors, focusing on the recovery of distressed debt, sales ledger reviews, and post insolvency debtor book collections. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional client service, build strong sector relationships, and support the growth of our debt management offering.

Responsibilities

You'll make an impact by:

• Proactively managing and recovering overdue corporate debt through effective customer engagement, negotiation, and tailored repayment solutions.
• Utilising in-house risk tools, including Tracker, to assess customer financial health, identify business distress, and recommending appropriate recovery strategies.
• Identifying opportunities for escalated recovery action, legal intervention, or additional service solutions that maximise client outcomes.
• Providing insightful debt analysis, reporting, and portfolio updates, enabling clients to make informed risk and recovery decisions.
• Collaborating across teams to support clients with portfolio risk solutions, customer vulnerability considerations, and delivering exceptional client service through regular updates and being the point of contact for client communications.

Qualifications

• Experience in a telephone-based, business-to-business debt collection role, with an understanding of insolvency. Experience within consumer debt recoveries also be considered.
• Previous exposure to clients in the utility or lending sectors is desirable.
• A relationship-focused professional who can build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• A collaborative team player who works effectively across teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to agree practical debt resolution strategies and confidently articulate key decisions and outcomes to clients.
