Job Description

  • Day Rate: £250-300/day Inside IR35 (DOE)
  • Contract Length: Initial 3-months, extending to 12 or 18 months, potential perm
  • Working Model: Fully Onsite in Portsmouth with regular travel across the South.
  • Role Location: Hampshire
  • Number of Openings: Over 10+
  • Employment Type: Contract, Inside IR35

  • Site Location(s): Portsmouth (Main Site). Regular travel between South England Datacentres expected.

About the Client and Role
Our client is one of the UK's most renowned and fastest growing IT Solutions organisations is seeking multiple Data Centre Engineers to support the physical aspects of various Data Centres.
The role will be heavily hands-on, with major end-to-end deployment, from measuring and the physical installation of structured cabling (copper & fibre) and DC infrastructure deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting detailed site surveys to validate design assumptions and capture accurate build information, including confirm locations, measure cable routes, check device interconnects, and record survey outputs.
  • Performing all physical installation activities on-site, including hardware installation, cabling between racks, fibre patching, copper connections, patch panel installation, testing & validation, labelling, and build documentation.
  • Supporting the design phase by validating survey data and producing accurate layout documentation, including survey review, rack and space planning, equipment validation, layout documentation, connectivity definition, and design drawings.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience working in data centre environments.
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards (copper & fibre).
  • Experience with rack & stack, patching, ODFs, and hydra cassettes.
  • Comfortable producing as-built documentation and design drawings.
  • Strong understanding of data centre H&S procedures and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately in live environments.
