Job Purpose: TMHCC is looking for a Data Product Owner to join our Underwriting Performance team, partnering across our Underwriting Pillars to shape and deliver impactful data solutions.In this role, you will define and drive the underwriting data strategy, owning the development and delivery of data products that empower our underwriters to make better, faster decisions. You will work closely with the Central Data Office, Reporting Product Team, Innovation, Strategy, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear product requirements, prioritise value-driven features, and deliver high-quality data products that enhance underwriting performance.This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing our data capabilities and directly influencing underwriting outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Own and define the product vision and roadmap for the underwriting data domain, ensuring alignment with underwriting strategy, performance objectives, and broader business priorities. Translate business strategy into a clear product roadmap, prioritising initiatives based on value, risk, regulatory requirements, and delivery feasibility. Partner with underwriting leaders and business stakeholders to gather, challenge, and refine requirements, converting them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable product specifications. Lead and represent the underwriting data product backlog, managing prioritisation, sequencing, and trade-offs to maximise business value. Lead a high-performing Agile data product team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide direction and clarity to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality data products. Work closely with data engineering, analytics, and architecture teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions are delivered on time and meet agreed standards. Shape and influence data architecture and data modelling decisions to support a scalable, reusable, and enterprise-aligned underwriting data ecosystem. Ensure strong data governance and quality standards, partnering with the Central Data Office to maintain data integrity, lineage, controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, including intake, discovery, business case development, dependency management, release planning, operational readiness, adoption strategy, and post-release performance monitoring. Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product adoption, underwriting impact, data quality, and business value, using insights to inform continuous enhancement. Drive product adoption and change management, ensuring underwriters and stakeholders understand how to leverage the data products effectively. Act as the primary point of contact and domain owner for underwriting data, providing strategic guidance on data usage, capabilities, and future opportunities. Manage stakeholder communication and expectations, providing transparent updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and value delivery. Identify opportunities to enhance underwriting performance through advanced analytics, automation, and innovation, working in partnership with Strategy and Innovation teams. Ensure regulatory and risk considerations are embedded in product design, particularly where data supports underwriting decisions and reporting obligations.Essential / Desired Skills Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, and value based prioritisation Confident facilitation of workshops to define scope, outcomes, and priorities Demonstrable ability to engage, influence, and align a wide range of senior business and technical stakeholders, often with conflicting priorities Familiarity with end to end data product lifecycle management, from ideation and design through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement Strong understanding of data quality, trust, and usability, including concepts such as data freshness, completeness, uniqueness, and consistency Ability to collaborate closely with data engineers, modellers, architects, and analytics teams to shape and deliver scalable data solutionsDesired Experience Working with data products, such as curated datasets, reporting layers, dashboards, or analytics platforms, treating data as a product rather than a one off deliverable. Proven record working as a Product Owner within an Agile delivery model, owning and prioritising a backlog to deliver measurable business value.
