Job Description
Data Processing Technician (Full-Time)
Location: Dyce, Aberdeen (Free on-site parking)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking Data Processing Technician to join our team and provide essential administrative support to our laboratory staff.
You'll play a key role in ensuring samples and data are processed accurately and efficiently, helping the laboratory run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and accurately logging samples received by the laboratory
Generating laboratory contract numbers, worksheets and reports
Calculate results in accordance with BS/EN standards and in-house procedures.
Review data for anomalies, inconsistencies and errors; liaise with technicians to resolve any queries.
Compile and issue test certificates and reports to clients within agreed timescales.
Maintain accurate electronic records and ensure data is filed and archived correctly.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of spreadsheets, templates, and standard report formats.
Support the Laboratory Manager and Senior Technicians with statistics, summaries and data exports as required.
Contribute to quality assurance and UKAS/ISO 17025 compliance through #
Completing and uploading GEODASY data
Closing out contracts and arranging the disposal of soil samples
About You
You will:
Have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
Be able to manage your time effectively and handle multiple tasks
Enjoy working as part of a team, but also be confident working on your own initiative
Be comfortable using IT systems; experience with specialist laboratory software or databases is an advantage (full training provided)
Be proactive, reliable and able to demonstrate a flexible approach to supporting the wider team
Have a pleasant, friendly manner and a positive attitude.
Desirable
Experience in a geotechnical, construction materials, environmental or similar laboratory.
Familiarity with BS/EN soil testing standards.
Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Understanding of UKAS / ISO 17025 requirements.
