Data Migration Lead

London or Manchester (Hybrid working model, 8 days per month office based)

Brief summary of the role

We have an urgent requirement for a hands-on Data Migration Lead to take ownership of a business-critical separation programme. You'll be responsible for shaping and executing the data migration strategy, ensuring data quality, compliance, and seamless transfer across multiple systems (EIT, HR, Finance, and commercial applications). This role offers the opportunity to work across a complex stakeholder landscape-including the incumbent supplier and future licensee-while operating in ambiguity and driving outcomes in a high-stakes environment.

What will you be doing?

• Develop and lead the end-to-end data migration strategy, roadmap, and execution plans.
• Oversee data cleansing and preparation activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality.
• Engage with suppliers and stakeholders to hold them accountable for timelines, GDPR, and transition deliverables.
• Manage dry runs, mock migrations, and final cutover activities with minimal disruption.
• Ensure all systems-including sensitive commercial, HR, Finance, and IT data-are successfully migrated.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience leading large-scale data migration projects, ideally within carve-out, M&A, or separation contexts.
• Strong expertise in data architecture, governance, quality, and compliance (including GDPR).
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data migration platforms.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across multiple workstreams.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity, balancing strategic planning with sleeves-rolled-up delivery.
