As a Data Engineering Specialist at Cadent, you will develop high-quality, reusable enterprise-level data used for regulatory, operational, and analytic reporting and insights. Your work will provide timely visibility into company performance and operational KPIs, helping stakeholders maximize value from Cadent data by innovating in AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Apply Enterprise Data Modelling techniques to conceptualize relationships between data types within the organization.
  2. Create Enterprise Data Models for effective data storage and interaction across various use cases.
  3. Assess issues that might hinder the organization from utilizing its information assets fully.
  4. Contribute to organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for data engineering.
  5. Implement controls to ensure data processing adheres to privacy, data retention, and security policies.
  6. Plan and develop data engineering solutions balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
  7. Monitor data standards and architectures, including security and compliance.
  8. Create data flows and modelling objects in SAP Datasphere, including relational and analytical datasets, fact models, and SQL views.
  9. Develop complex ABAP CDS views and SQL code following SAP best practices and documentation standards.
  10. Design and implement data pipelines and stores in SAP Datasphere, ensuring quality standards are met.
  11. Ensure development activities meet quality standards, with feedback integrated into the lifecycle.
  12. Work within agile development sprints across multiple product lines, participating in retrospectives and incremental development.
  13. Develop standardized Datasphere models for reports and analysis in SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, and other applications.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Development, or similar.
  • Deep knowledge of SQL programming.
  • Experience with SAP BW4/Hana or Data Warehouse Cloud systems.
  • Experience processing, transforming, and presenting data.
  • Strong technical skills and awareness of industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with data modelling methodologies (LSA , Dimensional, etc.), SQL, CDS views.
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment and Agile frameworks (desirable).
  • Experience with big data tools like DataFrames, Delta Tables, APIs, Apache Spark, Databricks, Spark SQL.
  • Ability to manage notebooks, data objects, jobs, clusters, and automate workflows in Databricks.
  • Understanding data flow, dependencies, data lineage, and Unity Catalog.
