Data Engineer With AWS, ETL & Dutch:

For one of our globally leading tech clients we are urgently looking for an experienced Data Engineer With AWS, ETL & Dutch for a long contract based in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate new source systems into the PostNL Data Lake ecosystem.
• Migrate legacy ETL processes (DL1.0) to the latest Data Lake 2.0 platform.
• Design and implement monitoring and alerting for ETL pipelines to enhance observability and reliability.
• Perform daily monitoring of ETL pipelines and provide incident resolution in both pre-production and production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across platforms.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

• AWS Cloud Services: Strong practical experience with services like Glue, Athena, Lambda, ECS.
• Kafka: Advanced proficiency in Kafka event streaming (mandatory).
• Programming: Expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL for data engineering and automation.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with CDK in Python.
• ETL & Data Lakes: Proven experience designing, building, and migrating ETL processes in data lake architectures.
• Version Control: Familiarity with GitHub and workflow-based version control.
• DataOps: Strong experience in maintaining and optimizing pipelines with a focus on support and monitoring.
• Security & Compliance: High attention to secure coding, IAM, security groups, and precision in implementation.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English; strong interpersonal skills.
• Language: Dutch language proficiency is required for team and stakeholder interactions.
