We are seeking a highly motivated Data Centre Facilities Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical infrastructure within a large-scale data centre environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the highest levels of uptime, efficiency, and safety across facility systems.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, troubleshooting complex systems, and collaborating with contractors and technical teams to maintain world-class facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on operations, maintenance, servicing, and repair activities across data centre infrastructure and facility systems.
• Complete maintenance activities and work orders accurately and on time using an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
• Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in data centre infrastructure and operational procedures.
• Respond to facility incidents and emergencies using established procedures and escalation processes.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, buildings, grounds, and safety routes to identify abnormal or unsafe conditions.
• Troubleshoot system faults and failures, evaluate performance issues, and recommend upgrades or improvements.
• Order and manage parts, materials, and supplies required for maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site standards and procedures.
• Escalate operational or facility issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with scheduling and supervising contractors during maintenance activities and equipment servicing.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the operations and maintenance programme.
• Operate and monitor facility systems through computerized control and monitoring tools.
• Monitor alerts, diagnose faults, prioritize responses, and coordinate resources as required.

Requirements

• Experience working in facilities maintenance, critical environments, data centres, manufacturing, utilities, or similar technical environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow structured operational, safety, and maintenance procedures.
• Experience working with maintenance management or asset management systems is highly desirable.
• Comfortable working with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively during operational incidents.
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Shift Pattern

This is a fully onsite role operating on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Four-Week Rotation Cycle:

• Week 1: 4 Day Shifts
• Week 2: 4 Night Shifts
• Week 3: 4 Day Shifts
• Week 4: 3 Night Shifts

This schedule repeats every four weeks and provides a structured rotation with 14 shifts across the cycle.
